Semester Reflection
Throughout this year, as a class we have explored didn't aspects of practical math and the skills for daily life. Wheaths its find the natural log of a value of factoring square trinomial. One of the skills that really stuck and had a very practical to daily life and applies to almost everyone was exponential value growth. For me I grew from this because everyone has to balance a bank account and no how to plan for the future. The two main functions that I explored was compounded growth and decay as well as continuous growth and decay. The formula for compounded uses the or key terms, The initial value, growth value, time and number of times compounded. The main uses for the value of something. For example the interest of a bank account or the value of an object. For the use continuous growth we see it when predicting the growth with some forms of interest but is mostly used for finding the value of something knowing the duration.
Throughout this year I have had many problems that can be used in my daily life. To make these problems work for the issue I was trying solve I contextualized them with something that would relate to the components of the equation or problem. When I was working with exponential growth and decay or values I used the context of money growth in a bank account or how the value of an object would decline. The skill of contextualizing in the skill that I tried to apply to my math and a habit of a mathematician.
